Filming: Rehearsal Pt.1

The date of filming is soon approaching. In preparation for the day we are going to film, our group of actors and filmers all got in a call and went over the scenes. In this call we discussed each scene and how it will be carried out when we go to film. We explained to our actors what they had to do during their screentime.

SCENE 1- Picking up the phone and the phone call

We will have the camera start facing down on the table, and it will stay there a little after for the title card to show in post. Then there will be a cut to the split screen phone call. The audio will be recorded externally while the two parts will be filmed with vertical-facing cell phones. This will allow for both shots to be put together for the split screen and audio doesn't have to be recorded on the phones while they are recording. These will be the only shots, as when the phones hang up it will transition to a new location.

SCENE 2- Exiting the car and walking to the camp

There will most likely just be a shot that shows the whole car while each person in it exits. While talking, they will open the trunk and take out supplies. This shot will be closer, showing only the trunk and two or three characters in frame. After this there will be a much wider shot pointed at the opening into the forest while the group walks in.

SCENE 3- Setting up camp and getting firewood

Most likely, we will have to set up a tent in a different location, as we would need specific permission to set up a tent in our current location. This could be worked around, with specific scenes being filmed seamlessly in the location with the tent. These scenes could have no people, with tent shots being establishing only, or we could while sacrificing some immersion. No matter what there will be a filming session at another park with a tent. We could probably go right before or after filming at the first park.
