Group Blog

 We have finalized our group selection for the Short Film Package. My group will be 3 members. These members are myself, Grant Cipollone and Kyle Weiner. There are a few key reasons on why I have chosen to be a part of this group. Firstly, my group from last year, which is only 2 people, are in this group as well. There is only an addition, which will help with anything that couldn't be previously done by the 2 of us. It will also potentially make our tasks easier, as the workload can be split up between us with each of us having to do a smaller amount of work. Kyle acted in our previous final task, so he is already accustomed to the filming process. He basically worked with us during all the time we filmed the short film. Since he already has experience in editing, it will greatly benefit us to add him to our group. This will ensure that all of our group members will all have experience in 3 areas. 1. We all have experience in the filmmaking process (ex. editing, filming). 2. We all have experience working together on a filming project. 3. We have all come up with ideas and concepts for these projects together. I believe this will give us an edge when it comes to doing the short film package. This is mostly because we will go through the process much faster than the first time around. We will be more knowledgeable on how to get through each step faster and more efficiently. I hope this is enough to ensure that we put out a good final product this year.

Filming: First Scene

 We decided that the first scene could be filmed at a separate time than the rest of the scenes because of its location. Not only that, this was filmed on a separate date. The script was changed to compensate this. The camping trip was scheduled for a later date rather than later that day in the story to maintain continuity. All group members and cast members were not together for this shoot, as we didn't need to be. There are no group parts in this scene besides ones that will be edited in. We got in a voice call together for communication purposes as the first shot was filmed. There needed to be two phones utilized for this shot, as the shot consisted of a phone on a table. Only phone cameras will be recording every scene, and this was no different, which is where the second phone comes in. Intro & Group Blog: Final Task

 I am Nicholas Arnold, an 11th grader at Fort Lauderdale High. After the success of the previous project I worked on, I am excited to work on a new project with my improved editing skills. I feel that I am now fairly competent at editing footage. It would be an ideal scenario if I could use that skill in a group. This why I am choosing to participate in a group with Grant Cipollone. I have chosen to be in the same group for 3 separate reasons. The first is that Grant has good camerawork and can create great footage to use off of our ideas. This is something that I don't feel as confident with, so a project would turn out better with him filming scenes. Secondly, I am more knowledgeable of the editing software and can create a good final project with the footage given. This commercial is targeted towards anyone with underlying medical conditions that could lead to constant uncontrollable headaches, specifically those who seek a solution to this condition. The commercial primarily advertises a product that is meant to fix these issues.
