Our Pitch

The pitch for our film is: "A group of bloggers explore an abandoned building, only to end up dead, one after another. they don't know who is the culprit behind the murders." 

A group of vloggers go to an abandoned building for a video. They split up to look for a place to sleep due to the nasty smells and shards of glass located around the house. When an area to sleep is finally found and the group calls to regroup. When they meet up one is missing. The group has no idea why and they begin looking for the missing person. When they find him he is dead with mutilated limbs. The group begins to panic and fear that one of them has killed each other or that there is a murder located in the building. With fear setting in they begin to distrust one another and split off, some alone others in small groups. These groups are wary of one another and stay far apart. However the murders continue and people continue dying. Over time their numbers dwindle. With their numbers lowered the group comes back together in order to find the murderer. Over time they begin to learn that none of the people present are the murder. As the group decides that there is an outside force committing the murders they begin to investigate. The only clue they have is that they are always being watched as once somebody leaves the group's sight they are instantly killed. With this discovery they start searching for clues as to how they are always being watched. With this search underway they find the hidden camera set up around the building. The cameras are hidden and seem to be in every room of the building. The group with the finding of the camera realizes that the cameras were originally set up for the vlog they were planning to record and that the only person who has access to these cameras video output is their cameraman. With the discovery of the murderer they begin to hunt down the cameraman. However their numbers have dwindled too far and they have no way to find the cameraman. The murderer eventually hunts them down, thus ending the vlog.

Filming: First Scene

 We decided that the first scene could be filmed at a separate time than the rest of the scenes because of its location. Not only that, this was filmed on a separate date. The script was changed to compensate this. The camping trip was scheduled for a later date rather than later that day in the story to maintain continuity. All group members and cast members were not together for this shoot, as we didn't need to be. There are no group parts in this scene besides ones that will be edited in. We got in a voice call together for communication purposes as the first shot was filmed. There needed to be two phones utilized for this shot, as the shot consisted of a phone on a table. Only phone cameras will be recording every scene, and this was no different, which is where the second phone comes in. The camera wouldn't move, as it captures a top-down shot of the table with a phone in its center. The phone would then ring and be picked up by an off-screen arm after a considerable amoun

Intro & Group Blog: Final Task

 I am Nicholas Arnold, an 11th grader at Fort Lauderdale High. After the success of the previous project I worked on, I am excited to work on a new project with my improved editing skills. I feel that I am now fairly competent at editing footage. It would be an ideal scenario if I could use that skill in a group. This why I am choosing to participate in a group with Grant Cipollone. I have chosen to be in the same group for 3 separate reasons. The first is that Grant has good camerawork and can create great footage to use off of our ideas. This is something that I don't feel as confident with, so a project would turn out better with him filming scenes. Secondly, I am more knowledgeable of the editing software and can create a good final project with the footage given. This is all backed up by our previous work, in which we split the work between filming and editing to make a better finished work. This commercial is targeted towards anyone with underlying medical conditions that could lead to constant uncontrollable headaches, specifically those who seek a solution to this condition. The commercial primarily advertises a product that is meant to fix these issues. The main goal of the commercial is to get the targeted audience to buy the product advertised by making a convincing plea that the product is worth buying. Migraines are an issue in many people's lives and this advertisement is an attempt at reaching this audience, and their wallets.
