Title Research: Art of the Title Website


 We have come up with the
premise for our movie opening and our movie's pitch. One of the next necessary steps is to think of a title for the movie. The title is a very important and crucial part of any movie. Titles are more than just what the movie is called. All aspects of the title screen are important. The font, font size, background, and more can be manipulated to convey a movie's theme and nature. Since the title is so crucial, research of titles is necessary. One of the websites I used to research titles was called Art of the Title. I found the website because of a recommendation from my teacher.

The website is great for learning about movie titles because it included analysis of title sequences and cards from many successful movies. This gave our research variety and expert inquiry. The websites includes many different articles and lists that cater to anyone. Some of their webpages are lists about the best movie titles and some are descriptions of titles of big movie series. All of the content is easy to understand and very helpful. The most useful part of the website for our research was the descriptions of the best movie titles. They were the most helpful because they not only showed us examples, but they explained why the creators made them the way they did. The website helped us learn that the title should have the same mood as the movie's opening. For example, if the movie is about something grim, the titles should be dark and spooky. Or, if the movie is about something lighthearted like a comedy, the title should be quirky and bright. this is because the title is the first thing that the audience sees and it sets their mood before the movie even begins

Filming: First Scene

 We decided that the first scene could be filmed at a separate time than the rest of the scenes because of its location. Not only that, this was filmed on a separate date. The script was changed to compensate this. The camping trip was scheduled for a later date rather than later that day in the story to maintain continuity. All group members and cast members were not together for this shoot, as we didn't need to be. There are no group parts in this scene besides ones that will be edited in. We got in a voice call together for communication purposes as the first shot was filmed. There needed to be two phones utilized for this shot, as the shot consisted of a phone on a table. Only phone cameras will be recording every scene, and this was no different, which is where the second phone comes in. Intro & Group Blog: Final Task

 I am Nicholas Arnold, an 11th grader at Fort Lauderdale High. After the success of the previous project I worked on, I am excited to work on a new project with my improved editing skills. I feel that I am now fairly competent at editing footage. It would be an ideal scenario if I could use that skill in a group. This why I am choosing to participate in a group with Grant Cipollone. I have chosen to be in the same group for 3 separate reasons. The first is that Grant has good camerawork and can create great footage to use off of our ideas. This is something that I don't feel as confident with, so a project would turn out better with him filming scenes. Secondly, I am more knowledgeable of the editing software and can create a good final project with the footage given. This commercial is targeted towards anyone with underlying medical conditions that could lead to constant uncontrollable headaches, specifically those who seek a solution to this condition. The commercial primarily advertises a product that is meant to fix these issues. The main goal of the commercial is to get the targeted audience to buy the product advertised by making a convincing plea that the product is worth buying.
