Introduction to the Music Video Project

I will be working on this music video project with Grant Cipollone. I felt that it would be better to work on this project with another person for many reasons. I think it will be easier to balance the workload between the two of us when it comes to filming and editing. We will be able to use both of our experiences in previous projects to combine our strengths in creating the music video. It will also help to come up with ideas for scenes in the storyboard and final product. As long as our ideas don't clash with one another, and we can come to easy agreements, the brainstorming process could become less difficult. We could communicate more effectively due to the fact that we are friends and we are familiar communicating with each other. I think the music video we have planned would work better with more than one person, which we could benefit from. Something we would have to work on is acting, as both of us individually haven't been on camera much in our previous projects. Working together on scenes, especially when both of us are on camera, will have to be something we have to work on. I believe that we can make these improvements, as we improved so much in our previous project.

The song we have chosen is "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day. This song has a tone that I have a good idea for a video with a similar tone. I picture the scenes being set at night, to follow the general tone of the song. We haven't ironed out many more of the details, but the time period of the song will be between 0:37-1:40, or 1:52-2:55. These clips are 1:03 seconds long, so I will have to find a way to shorten it. The lyrics start and finish longer than 1 minute away from each other, so I was thinking about cutting something out in the middle or fading the final part chorus out at the end, two things that I do not want to do. These clips are basically the same parts of the song, with a 40 second build up into a loud 20 second chorus. This song is more somber, and will test our abilities to edit and film something more sad. There is only further room to expand our plans and ideas for the music video as the planning phases continue.
